Kyrie Irving led the Celtics with 40 points (17-33 FG), along with 10 rebounds for his first career 40-point, 10-rebound game, as Jayson Tatum contributed 23 points (7-18 FG) and 10 rebounds. He has now scored 15+ points in each of his last 6 games, the longest such streak of his NBA career. Joel Embiid led the 76ers with 34 points (10-17 FG) and 16 rebounds, becoming the second player in 76ers franchise history with at least 30 points and 15 rebounds in a Christmas Day game (Dolph Schayes – 33 points and 15 rebounds for the Syracuse Nationals on 12/25/1957). Ben Simmons added 11 points (4-9 FG), 14 rebounds and 8 assists in the losing effort. With the win the Celtics improve to 20-13, while the 76ers fall to 22-13 on the season.
